Job Description:
Zahira College, Colombo is one of the leading educational establishments with more than a 100 year history. Under the leadership of the Board of Governors, a series of steps have been taken in recent years to upgrade the College, its educational activities which are conducted in all three mediums namely, Sinhala, Tamil and English and very specially sports.
As a part of the new Management Structure it has been decided to appoint a Deputy Principal to concentrate on all Administrative and allied matters relating to the College. We are looking for a mature, dynamic, proactive person with a good track record plus relevant educational background and experience at senior level in the management of schools to assist the present Principal to upgrade the present systems and to introduce new systems at the College.
We expect the suitable candidate would have:
• A relevant Bachelor’s Degree with a Post Graduate Diploma in Education from a reputed University. Preference will be given to those who have a Master’s Degree in Education or Educational Administration.
• At least 10 years experience at Senior level in a recognized school, either local or overseas.
• A track record showing high quality leadership skills and strong analytical skills with ability to maintain good inter-personal relationships with all levels in the College.
• Good communication skills in English and either Tamil or Sinhala. A candidate who is trilingual would have an advantage.
• Experience in Strategic Planning, Human Resource Management, Basic Accounting matters and Computer Literacy will be distinct advantages.
• A good all round Sportsman would be ideal.
• An attractive Salary Package in keeping with Seniority and importance of position will be offered
It is unlikely that a person below the age of 40 years would have the requisite experience and qualifications.
