SUMMIT Professional Service is a professional am of PEAK Adventure Travel Group. PEAK operates in over 16 countries and own around 20 brands which are market leaders in US, UK and Australia. PEAK is head quartered in Melbourne but is partially owned by TU! travel (www.tuitravelplc.com), which is a Europe based travel giant. Supporting the PEAK structure SUMMIT provides the global IT and Finance support for PEAK by maintain and enhancing the Enterprise IT and Finance Systems.

About the Role:

The ideal candidate will responsible for supporting and developing software solutions for the travel retail space and closely work with Technical Lead and a remote team of developers in Melbourne. He/she will be engage in solving a variety of problems of short term tactical fixes to long term strategic solutions.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

– Make design and implementation decisions about platforms and application architecture to achieve clean. scalable code within specified timelines.
– Design, review, develop and debug development solutions within the technical architectures
– Formally document technical solutions
– Coordinate with internal departments and external clients to ensure development tasks are accurately performed
– Timely delivery of assigned work to a high standard

Qualifications and Experience:

– Relevant tertiary or postgraduate qualifications in IT
– Extensive understanding of PHP 5 Object Oriented development practices
– Extensive understanding of modern Javascript, HTML CSS techniques and practices
– Experience in the use of source control systems (e.g. SVN, CVS, GIT or similar)
– Knowledge & practical application of relational database design using MySQL or similar
– Comfortable working within a Linux environment including interacting with a shell interface

Added Advantage is given to Candidate who have:

– Exposure to Symfony, Zend Framework or similar frameworks
– Experience working with complex enterprise systems
– Previous experience working with web services
– Exposure to web analytics packages advantageous (e.g. Google Analytics or similar)
– Knowledge & practical application of eCommerce solutions

Skills and Attributes:

– Excellent analytical skills
– Strong verbal and written communication skills across varying levels of technical understanding
– Flexibility and adaptability to work in a team environment with both technical and non-technical personnel
– Ability to adopt new workflows and development practices.
– Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail
