Financial Analyst

Fundamental Analysis – 2 positions
Macro-Economic Analysis – 1 position

Job Profile:

Reporting to the Head of Research, the candidate would hold a fulltime engagement with accountability to produce designated research reports and support research undertakings with minimum supervision.

Responsibilities:

Fundamental Analysis:

• Would engage in issuing valuation driven investment recommendations on designated securities of the CSE, by carrying out sectorial and company performance forecasting within identified macro-economic outlook.
• Maintain an overall understanding of macro-economic conditions of Sri Lanka and related impact on securities of the CSE.

Macro-Economic Analysis:

• Would engage in analysis and forecasting of macro-economic data of Sri Lanka factoring related global data, to maintain an in-depth insight on the overall Sri Lanka’s macro-economic outlook in ascertaining timely impact in relation to securities of the CSE.
• As required engage in fundamental analysis of securities of the CSE.

Common to both:

• Would need to communicate with foreign and local institutional clients and other related stakeholders in relation to investment recommendations and/or macro-economic forecasts.

Requirements:

• Solid educational background in Finance, Economics or Business at bachelor’s level or equivalent professional qualifications.
• Postgraduate qualification in a related discipline or CFA would be preferred.
• At least 1 year prior work experience in a similar role is required.
• Fluent report writing and presentation skills in English.
• Need to be highly computer literate.
• Exposure to statistical software and forecasting models would be beneficial.
• Ability to work within limited timelines.
