KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
As the Systems Administrator you will be responsible for the administration of the Information Systems including
the Hardware Infrastructure of the Institute. Server management is a primary responsibility. and you would be
responsible for installing, maintaining and upgrading Servers in a Virtual Server Environment. You will also have
to manage a proper backup policy and ensure that Server data is secure from unauthorized access. Another key
duty is to manage the Data Communication links, Routers. Firewalls, Proxy servers, WI-Fl Access Points, VPNs
and Network Switches to ensure the optimum service levels to the stakeholders.
As the Database Administrator (DBA) you will be responsible for the Performance, Integrity and Security of the
Databases. Additional role requirements are likely to include planning, development, troubleshooting and SQL
report generation.
Due to the sensitive nature of data stored, managing the Information Security, Control and Disaster Recovery pro-
cesses have become increasingly important aspects of the work.
KEY SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
– A Bachelor degree, with a technical major, such as Engineering or Computer Science.
– A recognized Certification in Systems Administration / Systems Engineering / Database Administration / Network Administration.
– Strong skills and experience in managing MS SQL Server and MySQL Databases.
– Knowledge in MS Windows Server OS. Linux OS, Web Server and Email Server management.
– Minimum of two years’ experience in Systems and Database Administration.
