A Family own startup privet investment in hotel, travel, estate, Coffee Shop and BnB sector is looking for a best fit for a Finance Assistant The Company seeks to engage services of a Finance Assistant to work in a dynamic, ever changing environment to support the Finance Manager with strong accounting, communication and administration skills.

Assisting the Finance Manager, the Finance Assistant is responsible for performing assigned accounting transactions related to financial accounting , banking and able to trouble shoot basic office administration situations with minimum supervision.

The Finance Assistant is expected to be extremely time conscious, manage expectations of the Business Owners with regard to accuracy, timeliness, completeness and relevance.

• Process and prepare financial and business forms for the purpose of checking account balances, facilitating purchases, etc.
• Perform routine calculations to produce analyses and reports as requested by the heads of companies
• Help oversee and manage individual accounts
• Create, send, and follow up on Invoices
• Review and adhere to department budgets
• Collect and enter data for various financial spreadsheets
• Review and audit financial statements and reports, ensure all calculations and data entries are correct
• Reconcile any discrepancies or errors identified by conversing with employees and/or clients
• Report any troubling discoveries or suspicion of wrongdoing to the proper authorities
• Collect information and prepare payroll payments for employees
• Assist the finance manager in creating financial reports on a regular basis
• Adhere to the company’s or organization’s financial policies and procedures
• Answers question and provide assistance to stakeholders, customers, and clients as needed
• Attend finance department and company-wide meetings, sometimes assisting with financial reporting to managers
• Suggest changes or improvements to increase accuracy, efficiency, and cost reductions.
• Assist the Finance Manager to prepare/review financial analyses; investigate and resolve necessary items;
• Assist the Finance Manager to prepare Budgets and Forecasts for expenses of the Group
• Prepare ad-hoc analyses and reports as assigned by the Head of the Business
• Provide frequent training to other employees on financial guidelines.
• Perform other job related duties as requested.

• You hold a Bachelor’s Degree or part qualification in accounting • You have broad based experience in book keeping and working in family companies Financial Accounting and Financial Audits;
• You have experience with Quickbooks
• You have knowledge of Microsoft Office;
• Any experience working in hotels and travel companies is a plus. • You have excellent communication skills in both English & Sinhala.
