Vacancy – Project Manager (Sri Lanka)

Child Fund is an international NGO that has been actively involved in child development throughout the country for the last 30 years. It implements a diverse portfolio of programs that promotes healthy & secure infants, educated & confident children and skilled and engaged youth. We are looking for individuals to fill the position of Project Manager – Based in Colombo with frequent travels to program locations.

Job Summary:

Responsible for overall management of the project (“Returnees to the Urban and Rural North Project”) including, providing leadership in planning, implementation and monitoring in project activities. The project manager is also responsible for budget management and providing technical and strategic oversight in execution of the project.

In addition projects manager manages all the staff in the project and external relationship with project partners and key stakeholders. The Projects Manager closely works with relevant government and non-government organizations to facilitate and support refugee and returnee families to have access to adequate information to successfully navigate formal reintegration processes. livelihood options, children to have access to quality learning opportunities and social integration of returnee youth. He/She will be accountable for the progress of activities and delivering the intended outputs and changes and timely submission of donor reports, sharing the lessons learnt and reporting on all program activities.

Qualifications/Experience:

• Over 7 years’ experience in a Senior Program management role in a development; social services or community organization.
• Demonstrated skills in developing networks with government and non-governmental organizations including civil societies.
• Experience of managing and implementing development programs, preferably in a capacity development of the civil societies and youth engagement.
• Demonstrated understanding the rights based approach to disability and social inclusion.
• Outstanding written and oral communication skills in English; fluency in a local language Sinhala or Tamil.
• Demonstrated high-level interpersonal and cross-cultural skills including the ability to build collaborative relationships internally and externally with sensitivity to cultural, ethnic. social and political issues.
• Computer proficiency in general office software (i.e. Word. PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook).
• Experience in resource mobilization, coordination and negotiation and social policy.
• Some “out of hours” work and frequent travel in Sri Lanka may is required.

Education/Certifications:

Bachelors or higher-level degree in the relevant field is required. Equivalent relevant work experience maybe acceptable in lieu of degree Women are highly encouraged to apply.
