Vacancy

Legal Officer

Location: Colombo with travel to the field

Job Profile:

– To support, maintain and manage the provision of effective and efficient Legal support and services for the World Vision National office and its field operations within the legal framework of the laws of Sri Lanka.

He/she will be responsible for:

• Drafting & reviewing of all contract, agreements, MoU’s & other business documents and ensure efficient contract management and compliance with all statutory/organisational requirements.
• Performing in-house legal advisory role for projects, programmes and labour/HR matters and effectively managing legal resources.
• Providing litigation support – representing the organisation and coordinating all litigation requirements with external counsel.
• Liaising with external stakeholders and mitigating risks to the organization and advice management accordingly

Requirements:

• Should be an Attorney—at—law & Notary Public preferably with a bachelor’s degree in law (LLB) or equivalent.
• Minimum 03 years’ experience in a similar capacity with exposure to drafting contracts , MOU’s, legal agreements preferably in the humanitarian sector.
• In depth knowledge in contract management and Sri Lankan Labour Law’s with experience in handling labor tribunal matters.
• Excellent communication skills in English and a local language (in both reading and writing) is essential.
• Competent in the use of Microsoft Office, computer programs including Word, Excel ,PowerPoint and the use of internet and email.
• Should posses the ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
